Royal Bloodline Punch - Gin Cocktail Recipe
This is a rich and fruity punch. Nick Strangeway, one of London’s most respected bartenders, created it especially to celebrate the Royal Wedding.
The recipe
Ingredients
- 500ml/4 parts Beefeater Gin
- 250ml/2 parts sweet vermouth
- 125ml/1 part crème de framboise
- 625ml/5 parts blood orange juice
- 250ml/2 parts blood orange sherbet
- 1 bottle Champagne
- Blood orange slices and raspberries to garnish
Method
Glass: Serve in Highballs. Build in a large jug or punch bowl.
Build all the ingredients, except the champagne, on rock ice in the bowl or jug. Stir to chill thoroughly and garnish with the blood orange slices and raspberries. Serve in the Highball glasses topped with Champagne.
Notes
To make the blood orange sherbet, zest five blood oranges into a pan and then squeeze in their juice. Add 15 tablespoons of caster sugar and slowly heat to dissolve the sugar, make sure you don’t let it boil. Leave to infuse, let cool for thirty minutes and then strain through a fine sieve.
